Privacy policy

This site is static: no accounts, no comments, no newsletter, no advertising. Nothing is loaded from third parties until you have agreed to it.

Your choice

The bar at the bottom asks whether web analytics may be used. Declining and accepting are equally available, and the site behaves the same either way. Your answer is kept in your browser under consent with the time, so it can be demonstrated (Art. 7 (1) GDPR). Change it any time via Privacy choices in the footer.

Always: server logs and settings

Hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, on German servers, under an Art. 28 agreement. Each request logs your IP address, time, file, status, referrer and browser — needed to deliver the site and trace faults (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Deleted after 90 days.

Settings concern the colour theme and the consent. These two entries are stored in your device’s local storage. They never leave your device and need no consent (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). Clearing your browser storage removes them, and the bar will ask again.

The site search runs entirely in your browser. The index is downloaded once; your search terms are never transmitted anywhere.

Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, under an Art. 28 agreement. Records the pages you open, an approximate location from your IP address, device and browser, and the referring page; sets the cookies _ga and _ga_*. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG).

Data may reach Google LLC in the USA under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework; an appeal against that adequacy decision is pending before the Court of Justice, and access by US authorities cannot be ruled out. Kept two months. Google Signals, data sharing and demographic reports are off. Google also offers a browser add-on that prevents Google Analytics from running on any site.

The counters on the publications page come from Digital Science & Research Solutions (Dimensions). Without consent they stay empty; with it, your IP address and browser details reach the provider, who may be outside the EU.

Your rights

You have the rights under Art. 15–21 GDPR — access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection — and, for the consent-based analytics, data portability (Art. 20). Consent can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3)).

Because I cannot identify individual visitors, requests concerning the analytics data cannot be processed (Art. 11 (2) GDPR). User-level analytics data are deleted automatically after two months. You can withdraw your consent at any time via “Privacy choices” in the footer.
